Horse enthusiast Gloria Scali along with the Wide-Angle Ranch offers basic English or Western Horsemanship, Equitation, Gymkhana, and Horse Owners skills to people and children of all ages..
Residing in beautiful Athens Ohio for over 25 years, Gloria has a BFA in Photography from Ohio University.
Her love for animals and children have helped to establish a small growing horse business and small organic farm. Teaching horseback riding lessons for over 20 years, several horse clinics, small horse camps. Offering private lessons, group lessons, at the ranch and also having taught beginner horsemanship, and advanced equitation through Ohio University's Life Long Learning Program from 1993 until the program ended in 2000. Instructing those who would like to learn more about owning their own horses, or showing a horse, or just plain having fun with horses.
" We can teach all areas of riding Western, English, Barrels, Jumping. We specialize in Gymkhana classes, NBHA and speed events, one of my daughters also competes in the Interscholastic Equestrian Team in English Equitation and Jumping.
We have a small local 4-H club named Saddle Up Pup, we participate in a variety of projects including dogs, cakes, horses, photography, etc. We have several wonderful horses and ponies to lease as well for 4-H or lease a horse for open shows for the season, if you do not have your own horse. Students will learn the fundamentals of horse care. They will learn how to tack, groom, feed and play games with horses., They will get to participate in the daily barn routines, and the end of each class each week will include a short ride. We will have photo day and a craft to create at the end to take home with your favorite horse pic!
Classes fill quickly, so if interested make sure to sign up right away!
